246/365: can't remember the name of this flower, part of the bouquet

We finished watched the Reacher series last night. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope they hurry up with the second series they're currently filming. Thursday night I also caught up with all the TV programmes I'd missed so I've spent a lot of time with my eyes fixed to the TV screen this week ... I think the weekend will have to be TV screen free!

M came to sort out the garden yesterday and it's now looking a lot tidier. Some of the summer flowering perennials have been cut back but the annuals in the pots and hanging baskets, though looking patchy after the excessive heat, are for now still going strong. We've started talking about spring bulbs, so that's exciting. I don't need many new ones this year, just three of the blue pots to refill and some naturalising tulips to add to a couple of the flower beds, and maybe a couple more of the big alliums. The pink rose was removed and has gone to the Mencap garden that M maintains, and it's possible that the older white rose may have to be replaced as well, but we plan to wait and see how it does next year. I'll probably wait until spring to replace the pink rose as I'm not sure whether to go for another rose or maybe a clematis, or maybe something else.

There's nothing in the diary for today so I want to get on with placing the rest of the adverts for the remainder of the decluttered items. Being without a fully functioning laptop has put me behind so I'm devoting the weekend to getting back up to speed on that project now my laptop is all singing and dancing again!

  1. Is that a Gerbera daisy? We used to call them Barberton daisies in Sri Lanka.
Glad you are all caught up on your TV watching and the garden has been tidied. My M did some tidying and watering in my garden, too. :)
Enjoy your day and getting all those ads placed for the decluttered items. :)

    1. Yes, I think you're right. Thanks Bless.

My garden is still looking reasonably good (if you don't look too closely!) despite the lack of rain. How's yours doing in your latest heatwave?

Thanks, I hope you have a good day too xx

  2. That's a beautiful flower whatever it is. Enjoy your weekend catching up with your items for sale. Not sure when the forecast rain will arrive but our gardens sure need it.

    1. Bless thinks it may be a gerbera, and it is beautiful. I hope the rain turns up soon and also stays for the week as promised. I've made a start on placing the adverts but it's slow going ... I'm tired today!

  3. Months ago you set yourself to get the garden sorted, and now it is. It's laid out and now it's maintenance. I bet it will look beautiful in spring with the bulbs. I'm looking forward to the pics.

    1. Thanks Lyssa. I'm pleased with the progress in the garden. There's just the pergola and wooden planters to sort out now but that may be a job for next year.

    1. That settles it then, it's a gerbera although I think I prefer Bless' Sri Lankan name for them ... Barberton daisies.

It's been a good day thanks, and I hope yours was too xx
