First, the good news. Community Link have confirmed the transport to the hospital tomorrow. It's a door to door service and, unusually, this time I'll be sharing the transport with another patient who has the appointment immediately after mine. I have warned them that my appointment won't be quick because the doctor will need to dilate my pupils but they assured me that the driver will wait as long as necessary so at least I won't have to worry about bus or train timetables.
The shopping for clothes didn't go as well as I'd hoped. I saw plenty that I liked but I was looking for some warm jumpers and I wasn't too impressed by the selection available locally. I was imagining a chunky knit but didn't see anything suitable so I've moved the search online and hopefully will have more luck.
On the other hand, the shopping for some more spring bulbs is going well! M ordered a mass of naturalising tulip bulbs and I'd agreed to buy some from her. She texted to say that they have arrived and she'll bring them on Friday, so that means I'll be visiting the garden centre today to pick up the rest of the bulbs I want for the three empty blue pots - two pots of standard tulips and possibly more daffodils for the remaining pot. The bulbs from M will go in one of the flower beds. I'll be leaving home with the intention of only buying the bulbs but ... me unsupervised in a garden centre ... who knows what I'll come home with!
I'm glad that your ride to and from the hospital has been confirmed! I hope that visit goes well!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that the clothes shopping didn't go as planned, but, hope you'll find something you like online.
I hope you find all the spring bulbs you'll be wanting. Looking forward to seeing what you buy! :)
I hadn't heard back about the ride to the hospital so contacted them and got the confirmation. Apparently the man I spoke to the first time 'forgets' to confirm things with people! At least I will get to my appointment though.
DeleteThe clothes I saw weren't warm enough but there seems to be more choice online, so I should be able to find something suitable.
I'm looking for pink tulips!
So glad that you got transport. Sending all good vibes. I suppose it's too late for me to put in winter pansies, but I need to get hold of some bulbs. Thank you for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lyssa. I think the planting time for winter pansies is late September - early October, so you should be okay if you plant them now.Hope you find the bulbs you want.
DeleteExcellent news about the lift to and from hospital.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with both the pink tulip hunt and the warm knit hunt. xx
It's a relief that I won't have to be waiting around for buses or trains and it's good to know that this service is available for future appointments.
DeleteI've given up looking for jumpers and have order an oodie ... only to wear at home of course! xx
That is good news that you don't have to worry about getting to & from your appointment. I think with heating bills rising so quickly & by so much, many of us will be layering up at home this year. I would like more tulips in my garden but I fight to keep them with the squirrels digging up & eating, even with blood bonemeal put down.
ReplyDeleteWithout the Link service I'd have needed a taxi, and two buses to get be to Bath on time and the same on the way home so a door to door service is a huge relief.
DeleteI've just treated myself to an oodie for keeping me warm at home - photos to follow. I've seen the tulips I want but haven't been to buy them yet so will go early on Friday before M gets here. Thankfully I don't have problems with squirrels!
I'm glad your hospital transport is sorted for tomorrow and I hope your appointment goes well. I go for my scan tomorrow I can hardly believe the coincidence. I think chunky knitwear will be in big demand right now with the price of heating set to soar.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your scan goes well and that it leads to a speedy end to the pain you are getting. I've given up an jumpers for now and order an oodie!
DeleteI'm glad to hear the ride is sorted. I hope things go well for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon x
DeleteHi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI just want to wish you well at your appointment today. and I'm thinking about you xx
I see your Thursday blogpost in my sidebar but it doesn't load up and it takes me to your Wednesday post, another blogger glitch (sigh)
Many thanks, Eileen and I hope yours went well too.
DeleteI don't know what happened to today's post so will be writing and posting another one to say what happened at the hospital. xx
Glad you got the transportation arranged. And good luck in the garden center, I suspect you never regret those purchases.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susanne, the transport worked really well and I'll use it in the future. M encouraged me to buy more plants today (30th) so I will be doing as she says ... definitely no regrets!
