263/365: geranium

I feel quite drained after watching the State Funeral yesterday ... a day of mixed emotions with all the pageantry, pride and sorrow. It was a fitting farewell to a wonderful woman.

I really should be catching up on the housework but today is going to be a busy day so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'm going round to Joy's home this morning to admire her new extension and this afternoon starts off with my personal training session. Then it's back home for a quick change and a trip to the opticians where they will check the health of my eyes, especially the left one where they are monitoring a growth on the back of the eye - praying that there is no change! If everything is okay I'll carry on and have a vision check as well. I'm fairly sure I need a new prescription, at least I'm hoping that's what's causing my blurred vision. I'll know before the day is out one way or the other!

  1. It was a very moving funeral, wasn't it?
Sounds like a busy day; I hope the eye examination goes well and you get only good news. :)

    1. I thought the funeral was a very special, fitting tribute to a wonderful woman. She is going to be missed by so many people.

Sadly, the eye examination didn't go as well as I wanted and further investigation is needed.

  2. The funeral was beautifully done and I have a strange empty feeling this morning, a feeling of loss I suppose, the Queen was a wonderful woman.
I hope you have a thorough eye checkup today and there is no change in your eye health. Our sight is a most precious gift and we must look after it.

    1. I know exactly what you mean. Her passing has subtly changed the status quo and we have to get used to the new King. I know changes are needed but I hope he doesn't make too many too soon.

The eye tests were definitely thorough ... numerous scans, pressure tests, photos etc plus the actual examination. They've also added me to the list to be called for examination more frequently.

  3. I know what you mean about hoping it is a change of vision only - nowadays, it can be a fair old worry, especially with past history. Fingers crossed for you. xx

    1. Sadly it's not just a change of vision and more tests are now needed. Still hoping it's going to be okay though. xx

  4. Very pleased to be able to access your blog again after being unable to the last few days. We also watched the funeral and it was quite emotive at different times. Splendidly done and how lovely that some of the Archbishop of Canterbury captured the essence of the late Queen so well. Helen S.

    1. Blogger has been playing up again. I've had problems accessing quite a few of the blogs I read every day but they are all working properly again.

Such a lot of planning had gone into all the funeral services. I teared up quite often during the day but thought it was a lovely farewell to a much loved monarch.

  5. Sending healing vibes that your eye health check up is all positive. I took the day off yesterday so I could watch all the coverage of Her Majesty's funeral live, but now I'm also playing catch up & feeling quite drained in doing so.

I hope you had a lovely holiday. Unfortunately I have to have more tests on my eyes.
