A Bit of Retail Therapy

I only popped into the garden centre to look for a small pink rose and all of these plants jumped into my trolley!

... three different nemesias, probably to be planted together.

... a salvia to replace the pink one that didn't survive the winter.

... the rose I was looking for, a small shrub rose possibly to replace the camellia. The camellia is currently in a prime position but it's an autumn flowering camellia so doesn't provide colour at this time of year. The space needs something like this rose that will flower now and keep flowering until the first frosts. The camellia will be moved to a new spot.

... another lavender, different colour and bigger than the other one I bought last week.

... chrysanthemum Snowland. I don't know where these will go but I couldn't resist them ... Chrysanthemums were Ced's favourite.

M will be here later this morning to get the hanging baskets ready and deal with all of these.

    1. A visit to a garden centre is a good choice for an outing and will be something to look forward to. Do you have any idea how low you want the covid numbers to be before you will consider venturing out? xx

    2. The County Health Department is supposed to update their numbers (posted weekly, now) on Thursdays, but, they haven't updated them yet as of 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. Last week's numbers were 2,266 positive cases reported (no idea how many were not reported) and the testing positivity rate was 3.33% My daughter says that's about as good as it will get, but, I'm hoping for lower rates! Even so, after I get my spring booster shot, I think I'll be ready to go out a little more.

    3. Well, I hope the number of positive cases drops quickly so you can feel more confident about getting out and about. I'm assuming that your next booster shot is due very soon. xx

    1. I don't have room for a greenhouse so bringing things on from seed or over-wintering isn't an option for me and I have decided that it's worth the expense. It's worth it for a summer full of beauty! Do you agree with your hubby's choices? xx

    2. He has a very different style to me, he has our front garden, which is all greens, I always have grown flowers he loves, French marigolds being one which I dislike. We tend to choose together, he is good at taking advice. I love my greenhouse with a passion.

    3. You always seem to work well together. I'm glad you have got your fences sorted and look forward to seeing how your re-design of the garden goes. xx
