Saturday

It's the start of the weekend so, as a result of my decision to swap my routine around, it's time to get stuck into household chores and possibly errands. I say possibly the errands because I want to avoid going into town on the busier days, which means the errands may have to wait until Monday. I haven't given too much thought about the best way to divide up the chores between the two days. Actually, I haven't given it any thought at all, so will tackle all the dusting, floors and bathrooms today, and will leave the kitchen, washing, and odds and ends for tomorrow.

It's supposed to be sunny today with temperatures back up after a slightly cooler couple of days so I'll leave my walk until this evening. Once I've completed today's chores it'll just be the usual hobbies to keep me occupied ... piano, Italian practice, reading (out on the patio), and, once the sun moves round and it's too hot to stay outside, back indoors to carry on with the family tree.

  1. I split my household jobs over two days so I don't get too tired and although I told you I like to keep my weekends free I put off the cleaning and your weekend will be the same as mine. They've promised high temperatures this weekend and I much preferred the cooler weather for walking which is much more comfortable.

    1. I started early so I've nearly finished today's list. It hasn't taken as long as I thought it would so I'm having a break for blogging and coffee, then may carry on to do the remainder which will leave tomorrow free. It helps that I've trained myself to be tidy and I live alone, so it's more the thought of doing the cleaning that gets me down rather than how much effort it takes.

It's hot already so I have the fans on and the blinds closed to keep the rooms cool. I hope you get all your cleaning done and can get out for a walk with Tilly x

  2. I've just finished ironing. I like doing it but after two hours! I'm a bit tired so, as it is sunny, I think I'll spend some time reading on the balcony before lunch.
Maybe later in the evening I'll go for a walk...
    Enjoy your Saturday, Eileen! :)

    1. Reading on the balcony sounds like a perfect way to relax in the sunshine and I hope you enjoy your walk later.

There's something satisfying about ironing but thankfully I don't have to do too much.

I forgot it was the Trooping of the Colours today so I'm watching that and will finish off the chores after lunch.

I hope you enjoy your Saturday too.

    2. Sounds like you're doing well with the housework, today! It's 85F (29C) here, right now (today's high is supposed to be 86F/30C) and just right for me. :) But, then, I'm not doing any housework! Just taking it easy. Hope the rest of your day goes well and you enjoy a walk in the cool of the evening. :)

    3. I think today's high was about 21C but it's forecast to get to 26C tomorrow, too hot to be working in but you'd probably think it was on the chilly side 😏

I've done a good chunk of the housework today and will finish off tomorrow. I'd have easily done it all today but I took a break to watch the Trooping of the Colour and lost my momentum!

I've just been out for my walk around the paths ... there's lots of teenagers gathering at the canal, probably to paddle board, so I wanted to avoid that location.

    4. I feel that it is important to point out that we had 24C today, with 29C forecast for tomorrow, and higher on Monday! Mind you, I favour around 22-25C sooo... Rain coming on Weds and Thursday so I have high hopes that the water butts will be refilled.

    5. Too hot for me so I will let you enjoy your heatwave while we enjoy a slightly cooler (only by a couple of degrees) start to the week. I can go two better on the rain as we have four days to look forward to from Weds to Sat! ☀️☀️☔☔☔☔☀️
