Weekly Reflections

 Reasons to be cheerful ...

  • chatting with family and friends
  • enjoying lunch with L
  • celebrating the birth of her first grandchild with J
  • discovery a beautiful red poppy in the garden ... not part of the planting scheme and I've no idea where it came from, but I love it!
  • enjoying a long overdue return visit to The Courts Garden
  • lunch with L and P
  • spending time in the garden
  • enjoying an evening walk around the marina
  • making some decisions about the next stage of planting in the garden
  • watching the Trooping of the Colour

I am grateful ...
  • for the company and support of good friends
  • for the quality and variety of the online classes, and
  • for the opportunity to continue with lifelong learning

Lifestyle changes
  • exercise (30 minutes minimum every day): achieved
  • weight: no change

  • In the next 12 monthsattempt some bird photography. No progress on this one yet.

  1. Sounds like a very good week and there's more beautiful sunshine forecast for today. How nice to discover that red poppy in your garden.

    1. Finding the poppy was the icing on the cake this week. I wonder what next week will bring?

  2. Congratulations to J. It's great being a nan - all the fun and precious little responsibility!

  3. I can see how pleased you were with the poppy appearing. I wonder if it arrived on the wind or maybe from a seed lying dormant for years. Your garden is looking lovely, I wanted to comment a few days ago but haven't been able to post any comments. Have a lovely Sunday. x

    1. I love poppies so what could be better. I'd decided I didn't have room to grow any but obviously I was wrong!

      Thanks, re my garden.

I hope you have a lovely Sunday too.

  4. A lovely list of reasons to be cheerful and grateful. I'm glad to see that you've achieved one of your end of lockdown adventures (coffee/lunch out with friends) and made a start on another one (visiting NT properties); well done! I think you will have to find a spot for poppies in your garden! At least one or two pots tucked in somewhere. :)

    1. I'm going to enjoy my end of lockdown adventures as a way of gaining confidence to be out and about again. I spent some time this afternoon thinking about the way forward (see tomorrow's post) and have come up with a plan ... cos I love a plan ☺️

Poppies in pots have made the list for next year but I won't have room for everything so the poppies may lose out to longer lasting flowers. Watch this space!

  5. Inspiring weekly reflections! Good friends who support you are a blessing, I don't know what I would do without mine.

    Have a nice week! :)

    1. My friends play an important part in my life and the anxieties and restrictions of the pandemic have really brought that home to me. I'm so glad to hear you have the support of your friends too.

Hope you have a lovely week too.

  6. What a wonderful list to be cheerful and grateful!
