I didn't venture out yesterday - too wet and rather cold. Instead I did some YouTube exercises and then spent most of the day looking for plants for the garden.
I've decided there are too many choices! There is a huge selection of roses and fuchsias, all of which I like, but then it's considering the overall picture and deciding whether the different colours work together and whether it's the correct height, etc. I had a brilliant time! I've made my choices and will email Danielle for her input. I'll share my choices with you when I'm ready to place the orders, just because it may change (quite) a few times before I reach that stage! The photos have nothing to do with my selection for the garden, just some snaps to brighten up this post.
I've been thinking about finding a tree so I can rejoin the monthly link up organised by Squirrelbasket. I used to do this every month and really enjoyed it but since I decided I'd like to rejoin I haven't been successful in finding a suitable tree close to home. There's no lack of trees that are easy to get close enough to for the photographs, but the majority are silver birch and I don't really want to repeat myself with the same type I wrote about before. Then it occurred to me that I have a tree in my garden that's soon to be joined by two others - a tiny magnolia and two tiny fruit trees - and it'll be fun to record them growing. Now I just have to remember to join in next month!
I don't have anything arranged for today. If it brightens up I'd like to head over to the marina to take my photos for the monthly 5 in 5 link up but if not I'll maybe switch to indoor mode and take them here. Apart from that it'll be a 'please myself' day, filled with piano practice, reading, family tree research, and probably a film or two. Hope you all have a good day, whatever you are doing.

ReplyDeleteIt's looking increasingly likely that it will turn into a 'please myself and do nothing at all day!' as I can't get going this morning. It's 9:50 am and I haven't done anything yet!

DeleteYes it will be fun to watch your own trees developing in the ir new home. I am wondering about the possibility of visiting some English Heritage sites before my current membership ends. I've done a grand total of 1 visit with it this year! Trouble is, getting to most of them will involve public transport, likely via London, and that just doesn't appeal. Hope you'll have had a great day.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm luckier in this area as there are 7 National Trust properties I can easily drive to, 30 minutes away max, plus numerous English Heritage places where I can also use my NT membership. I'm trying to book a ticket for Stonehenge to take advantage of a rare opportunity to photograph the stones with no people in the way! I don't think I'd go to any of them if I had to use public transport though.
