Weekly Reflections

317/365: camellia

 Reasons to be cheerful ...

  • phoning, texting and emailing with family and friends
  • arranging a supermarket delivery and getting exactly what I ordered ... nothing missing and no substitutions
  • making a start on sorting out the understairs cupboard
  • enjoying spending some time with Joy
  • indulging in some retail therapy, gradually working my way through my wish list and also replacing items that are long past their best
  • playing with my new Instant Pot and loving it!
  • snuggling up in my oodie!
  • relieved that friend L escaped with only soft tissue injury following her recent heavy fall
  • making tentative plans for a holiday to India in 2023/2024 ... it all depends on whether I can improve my fitness levels to ensure I will be able to get the most from the holiday plus the Covid situation of course

I am grateful ...
  • for a speedy recovery from my recent fainting episode and that it seems to have been a one off
  • for milder days at the start of November meaning I haven't had to turn the heating on just yet ... my oddie and a hot water bottle are all I need to stay warm
  • for the opportunities I have

Lifestyle changes
  • daily walk: Achieved but mostly indoor walks
  • weekly personal training session: Achieved
  • twice a week - 2 x 10 reps of each of three exercises: Achieved

    1. It's been great for this time of the year hasn't it? I still have to sort out an outdoor washing line so I am envious but glad it has made you happy xx

  3. Oh dear. It's very disconcerting to faint like that. Glad there has been no repeat. Long may it last! The mild weather is worrying but at the same time welcome. I haven't had the heating on, and even so my energy bill is 3 times what it used to be! :o( India sounds exciting! I hope it comes off, as I'm already looking forward to your photos!!

    1. I think Lyssa's suggestion of fluctuating blood pressure may be the answer. I've had that before but I will wait and see how it goes before seeing the GP to ask for a medication review.

I dread to think what the bills will look like once the heating does go on. At least I'm entitled to the cold weather payment this year as well as the extra cost of living payment.

I haven't settled on the exact holiday I want but it will be one of the escorted tours that includes a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. I need to improve my fitness otherwise the holiday will be a bit of a struggle and I don't want that so won't book anything until I know that I'm putting in the effort to lose weight and improve fitness and stamina. And of course it also depends on the Covid situation in India xx
