Tuesday

In the garden ... poppy, clematis, bacopa secrets, rambling rose, and petunias. These are possibilities for the SPSH No 7 - What's In Bloom, although Blogger has done something to the colours and exposure so I will need to correct that.

I met L for lunch yesterday. It was good to see her, though a bit subdued as the person she was a carer for had died at the weekend and she was understandably upset. On the other hand I spoke to J later on and she is beside herself with excitement as she is celebrating the arrival of her first grandchild.

The details for the choir in person outdoor workshop have been published and the decision has been made for me - the date clashes with an online memorial event I'm going to, so I won't be able to attend the choir event. To be honest, I am relieved more than disappointed as some of the arrangements were rather too lax for my liking considering the current situation so this saves me dithering about what to do!

Today I have a ticket for my first National Trust visit this year. This afternoon I'm off to The Courts Garden which is very close to home, about ten minutes drive to the next village. It's one of my favourite places and it's been too long since I last visited.

Before that I want to go to town to buy a gift for J's new grandbaby, pick up some flowers for L, and I'll take the opportunity to fill the petrol tank while I'm there. Next, a return visit to the garden centre to get some more pots but I think I'll put off buying the rest of the annuals until next week. Then a quick dash round the Tesco Express which is next door to the garden centre to buy the fruit and salad stuff, and I'll be set up for the week.

  1. Plenty of activities for today! I also have to run some errands, try to get a hairdresser's appointment, my nephew is coming to lunch, my pilates lesson in the evening...
    Enjoy your Tuesday!

    1. I've had a great day and hope you have too ... plenty to do but not too busy. I hope you managed to get your hairdresser's appointment and enjoyed lunch with your nephew. Is your pilates class online or in person?

    2. Lovely day here too! My hair looks great and my nephew is a lovely twelve-years-old boy who enjoys spending time with his cousins. The pilates class is in person, in a very big room and only eight people, I feel quite safe with the windows open and the masks on

    3. 12 year old boys are good fun - I remember my own nephews at that age. I'm getting confused about what we are allowed to do in the UK but it sounds like your country may be slightly ahead of us as I don't think we are allowed indoor clubs yet. Of course I may be wrong because I have no need of the rules relating to exercise classes 😂 Whatever the case, I hope you enjoy yourself.

  2. You flowers and photos are beautiful. Blogger drives me nuts at times as my photos aren't spaced as I intend them to be but then I only take snapshots so don't worry too much. Enjoy your day it sounds like it will be a busy one for you.

    1. Thanks Eileen. I frequently think I'll change to Wordpress but, when it's working properly, Blogger is so easy to use so I stick with it. I've done everything I set out to do, had a great time, and am now looking forward to a restful evening. Hope you've had a good day too.

  3. Beautiful floral photos. Just in the talks with your friends is the circle of life happening right before us; sorrow & joy. I hope that the visit to The Courts Garden is/was just what you needed. We got news yesterday that we are being released back into the wilds of contact & gathering, along with non-essential businesses being able to open as of Friday. Of course all is at strict (lol), restrictions on the number allowed to gather together or shop. I am slowly moving away from being a fan of Blogger ... I'll say no more.

    1. Thank you. I was very aware of the circle of life yesterday - the end of a long life and the beginning of a new one!

I had a lovely time at the gardens and have already posted my photo haul! It was busier than I was expecting but not too bad as there is a one way route to follow. I must remember to book one of the first tickets of the day for the next property I visit - you can stay as long as you want but by having an early entry you know that the number of visitors will be much lower than later in the day.

      I have a love/hate relationship with Blogger!

  4. Lots of lovely flowers in bloom in your garden! The colors look just fine to me, but, then, I am someone who takes pictures with my cell phone and I just post them as they are! The only editing I do is make the picture a bit bigger, from medium to large, on the blog post! :D Glad to see in the replies to comments that you were able to accomplish all your activities planned for today. Glad, too, that you have been relieved of having to decide on whether to attend the in-person choir practice or not. Hope you have a lovely evening.

    1. Thanks Bless, the garden is gradually bursting into colour 😀 It's good to hear that the photos look okay to you although when you describe your own editing of photos I umm ..... 😂😂

It's relief to have decided about the choir practice even if, in the end, the decision was made for me. I'll be attending an online memorial service from the college where I did my training to pay my respects to members of the faculty, graduates and current students who lost their fights against Covid.

I hope you have a lovely day xx

It's almost 10 PM and I'm feeling sleepy at the end of a lovely day.

    2. Every now and then, I crop the photos, too...does that count? :D I've a friend who occasionally tells me the lighting is wrong, but, I tell her the choice is between a less than perfect picture and no picture at all! :D

    3. Yes, cropping photos definitely counts. Editing the lighting is {coughs}, {changes the subject}{backs away} 😂😂
