339/365: I can't remember what this is! Any ideas please?

My day start with my weekly personal training session which, as usual, I'm looking forward to and as there's nothing else in the diary I can pick and choose how I fill the rest of my day.

During the next two weeks before the Christmas celebrations begin, I'm aiming to finish off a few odds and ends of tasks and get them ticked off and finished with this year. I think a big chunk of today will be spent taking the remainder of the photos I need of the items I want to sell and then placing all the adverts, the majority on Gumtree and a few on eBay. I've been living among piles of decluttered items for most of the year which gets me down so I want this to be the last year that happens. Anything still left to sell when I draw the line at Christmas will be moved upstairs to the spare bedroom and I'll get back to keeping the rest of the place tidy and visitor ready again. I also have another load ready for the recycling yard and the charity shop so if I can summon up the energy I'll get rid of all that today as well.

I still have the rest of the kitchen cupboards to sort out which, now the shelves have been rearranged, won't take too long to finish off. I'll have to order some more storage jars before I tackle this job so will get those ordered today and, once they arrive, it'll probably only take a couple of hours (maximum) to put everything in it's new place.

In the garden I still need to move the pots that held the annuals and then bring the rest of the blue pots holding the spring bulbs out of the garage. I can manage the smaller pots on my own but will need to have help with the bigger ones - it'd be easier if the main garage door had been sorted as I could manage it all on my own then, but it hasn't and as I don't have the strength to lift the bigger pots over the threshold of the side door I will be asking for help!

It's going to be a busy couple of weeks but I still have the crochet to tackle (!), Christmas carols to learn to play on the piano and plenty of books to read so it won't be all work and no play!

  1. Sounds like a busy day! I hope all the items you list for sale will be sold and quickly! I'm not sure what that plant is, but, it looks pretty!

    1. I'm okay with it being busy as I know I'll feel better once I've got some of these extra tasks done and out of the way. I hope the items sell quickly as well but am not sure whether people will be buying that much from eBay at the moment as there are so many postal strikes planned for between now and Christmas, which may put people off.

May-Lou identified the plant ... it's Helichrysum Silver

  2. Fingers crossed that the last of the decluttered items sell & get out of the house. I think the plant is Helichrysum Silver (?) with the nickname of Licorice Plant. Glad to read you are playing your piano again.

    1. Thanks May-Lou. I've googled your suggestion and you're right. It's a tender perennial so am keeping my fingers crossed that it survives the winter. I'm enjoying trying some new carols this year ... all good fun.

  3. Busy, busy busy! I've been doing well with the reselling - getting rid of things I no longer want. I have a pile sitting waiting to go to the charity shop too. Hopefully they will be gone this week!

    1. Well done on the reselling and charity donations. I've sold a couple of things now which will be collected on Saturday, so that two of the bigger things leaving the house. xx

  4. I know what you mean about the stuff you need to sell still sitting around. I really need to make a push in January to put some items on eBay. I have even saved cardboard boxes for shipping them, but have yet to take the photos.
