337/365: afternoon tea with L to celebrate both our birthdays |
L's birthday is three days after mine so every year we have a joint celebration, just for the two of us, and this year's choice was an afternoon tea at The George, the pub I go to for the Ladies That Lunch meal. The food was delicious with sandwiches, hot savouries, cakes, sweet pastries and crème brûlée, all topped off with an unlimited supply of tea or coffee. Needless to say we had a great time and have decided to go back there before Christmas for one of their Sunday lunch roasts ... I've already decided that I'll be having the lamb!
Neighbour S will be round this morning to fit a board to the top of the trolley to create a more stable base for the Instant Pot to stand on, and hopefully my nephew A will be round some time this weekend to do some other odd jobs for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one of them will be able to adjust the shelves in the kitchen cupboards so that I can get on with reorganising the cupboards next week.
I'm aiming to take a load of photos today so have pulled the Christmas decorations back out of the cupboard and will make a start on the photos for my monthly photo challenge. I also took some in the pub yesterday, both for the monthly challenge and for the WPSH, so am feeling smug that I've made a start on both of them before the month gets really busy. I also need to take the photos for the things I have found to sell. I've found quite a few things that may sell, no great value individually, but whatever I make will go in my camera fund so it's worth the effort.
That afternoon tea looks absolutely dee-licious!!! A great idea to go back for a Sunday roast. xx
ReplyDeleteIt was and was good value as well. It looks like we'll have to wait until after Christmas for the roast but we'll definitely be adding that to our social calendar! xx
DeleteEchoing Joy above. Would be interested to know which George you go to, there's loads around this area!
ReplyDeleteI've emailed you xx
DeleteYum! That looks delicious! May I ask what the sandwich fillings were?
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, you've already started on the photos for this month's challenge as well as the WPSH?
Hope S and your nephew will be able to accomplish all the things you need help with and you'll have your cupboard shelves all nicely organized, soon. :)
Have a lovely day!
The fillings were egg & mayo, cheese and a really lovely fruity homemade chutney, smoked salmon with a dressing but not sure what, and ham with lettuce and a different dressing.
DeleteI always start off taking photos straight away and then forget so have a panic at the end of every month!
S is going to do the shelves when he brings my revamped trolley back so I can get those cupboards sorted this afternoon 😊 xx
Looks absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteIt was! 😀
