Wednesday

the pieris, no raindrops this time!

Yesterday was good but I didn't achieve half as much as I'd planned to! I saw Joy first thing and that was lovely but then I sort of lost the plot. I cooked up the rest of the chicken but instead of getting on with clearing out the music room I got distracted and wasted a fair bit of time looking at YouTube videos. In my defence, I was tired and had hurt my knee the day before but I did eventually pull myself together and moved a few more things upstairs. The box for the charity shop is still here but a neighbour took some of the things to the recycling yard for me.

I think I'll be able to finish clearing out the music room today ... it's taken longer than I thought so I'll be glad to get it done. There was a lot to move but the real issue has been my own mobility which has made moving everything back upstairs so much more difficult. The problems with my knee are now affecting most aspects of my life so it's time for a return visit to the doctor, assuming I can get an appointment.

I have a double piano lesson this afternoon, which I'm looking forward to. I've practiced every day and know I have made improvements in the pieces I was set so I'm hoping Lily will be pleased with my progress ... this will be my first opportunity to gauge what her expectations are following a week of practice but I think I've done enough.

I'll do a load of washing as well and I have a couple of birthday cards to post but that about it for today. Hope you all have a good day too.

  1. Sorry to hear that your knee is acting up again. I hope you are able to get an appointment with the doctor to have it checked. Is it possible to ask a friend or a family member to help you carry the boxes upstairs?
Hope your piano lesson goes well and Lily is pleased with your progress.
Enjoy the rest of the day, Eileen.

    1. I did consider asking for help but there's nobody around at present ... holidays, working away and illness ... and I wanted to get it done. I'd be waiting until after Easter at the earliest and that's longer than I wanted to wait. It's nearly done now, so no worries!

The piano lesson went really well and Lily was pleased with the bits I'd practiced. We're starting duets next week!

Hope you enjoy your day too, Bless xx

  2. I hope you can get a doctor's appointment today. I agree with Bless that it would be a good idea to ask for help to move the boxes upstairs for you. I hope your piano lesson goes well and your new teacher is pleased with your progress xx

    1. No luck with the doctor's appointment. I'll try again tomorrow. Unfortunately there's nobody to help at the moment due to holidays, illness and working away. The piano lesson went well, thanks, and I was pleased with the feedback. xx

  3. Let's hope that your knee pain rights it self soon. Loosing the plot could be the theme to a chapter in my book of life; I got lost in "catching up" with my latest YouTube find, which is about motivating me to get a move on with things. Yes I see the irony in that (lol). Hopefully Lily will see all the joy you have put into practicing.

    1. Resting my knee is working and the pain is easing off. Getting lost in YouTube is something I understand well but the fact that you are watching videos to motivate you to move on actually made me laugh. Lily was pleased with how I'd done this week, so all's good. xx

  4. Planning to visit the music shop on Saturday, can you recommend somewhere for coffee in Westbury or a good place for lunch?
(just discovered that I can leave comments via my computer but not via my 'phone after weeks of trying!)

    1. For coffee there is Suave which is on the Warminster Road, which is the road you need to be on to get to the music shop. There is a car park on the other side of the road from Suave.

As for lunch, I haven't eaten lunch in Westbury for years. It depends what you are looking for. In the High Street there is a cafe called Aimee's which seem to do a good selection of light lunches for a reasonable price. The ladies I have met in Westbury don't rate any of the pubs but there are options in villages just outside the town. If you like Italian there's La Campagna restaurant at Upton Scudamore, or the one I go to regularly is The Farmhouse Inn at Southwick. They are both always busy so you will need to book. xx

I wish you the best of luck with your knee.
For the piano lesson I wish you success.
I love the flowers with raindrops.
    They are charming.
    Stay as good as possible.
