20/365: at the garden centre waiting for J to arrive

Yesterday was lovely ... a full day that just flowed nicely. I didn't manage to get through to the surgery so will have to try again today, but I did hear from the piano delivery company and my new piano will be delivered a week today on Wednesday afternoon ... only seven days away so I'll try not to burst from excitement while I wait!

I'm having a few quiet days to keep the weight off my knee as much as possible. I fitted in a quick shop yesterday after meeting J, so the fridge is filled with goodies for some easy meals for the next few day to avoid having to stand for too long in the kitchen.

It's the Indian cookery class today (Chingri Bhapa & Pyaaz Pilau Rice) but that's the only thing in the diary, so I'll keep myself amused with a mix of reading, piano playing, and TV.

  1. Seven days - wow!! That is so exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing some photos when it comes.
I hope the knee eases off quickly and doesn't give you too much trouble. xx

    1. Thanks Lyssa.

I find that a lot of the Indian recipes look very confusing but, once I've watched the demo, are actually very easy to cook. I will definitely be trying this one. xx

    1. Some of the swelling has reduced so my knee feels a little less painful today, thanks. I've managed to arranged for the old piano to be collected on Tuesday evening, to clear the music room ready for Wednesday. Not long to wait, thankfully ... I was expecting it to be much nearer the end of the month or maybe the first week of February. xx

  4. Wonderful news about your piano; less than ideal news about your knee & doctor's appt. Oh that photo of spring possibilities (the plants) ... we had more snow yesterday, today it's -17 & seeds catalogues are starting to arrive.

    1. It's great news about the piano arriving earlier than I was expecting. Hopefully by tomorrow the swelling will have gone down enough to use my knee brace for a while, which will help. The pain has subsided to normal levels during the day so far and that's a relief.

I was very well behaved in the garden centre and didn't buy anything but I was certainly tempted!

  5. The Indian food sounds lovely. I've only made conventional curries. Arilx

    1. It was very spicy but I loved it. I'm getting more adventurous with all the different types of curry since I started this online class.xx

  6. The garden center looks nice and well stocked. You did well resisting the temptation to buy some plants! How exciting to know that the new piano will be delivered in just one week! You'll have the old piano out just in time for the new one to be delivered! Good timing!
Sorry you couldn't get an appointment with the doctor, yet, but, it's good news that the swelling is going down. Yes, take it easy over the next few days and hopefully, the knee will be fine. Enjoy the Indian cooking class. :)

    1. This particular garden centre can be quite expensive which helped me resist temptation. I do need to discuss this year's planting with M at some stage but it'll all have to wait until I repay the money I spent on my last impulse buy ... the piano!

The timing has worked out well. I've just had to rearrange my next piano lesson as there won't be an instrument for me to play ... the new one doesn't arrive until the afternoon and my lesson is supposed to be in the morning!

The swelling has gone today but I'm still resting up until after the weekend. The lack of doctor appointments is frustrating and I don't really understand why it's such a problem. The country is supposed to be getting back to normal and restrictions will be removed next week, so why aren't the GP surgeries resuming pre-pandemic services?

I loved the new recipe, it's a keeper. I am looking for ideas for traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts if you can help me out please?
