New Piano Day!
26/365: the old piano, ready for collection |
an empty music room, not an instrument in sight |
a thank you gift from the new owners |
Today's the day! The old piano has gone to its new home and the sparkly new one will be here today. The old one now belongs to a 7 year old girl who is very musical and has started learning to play the piano ... it's a surprise for her. I'm really happy that it's going to someone who will enjoy it for as long as it lasts ... my friend D made sure all the keys were working so it should last a few more years for her. The carrier phoned yesterday to ask if I'd accept delivery in the morning if they happened to arrive much earlier than arranged so my new piano may be with me as early as 8 am ... much better than late afternoon, so I hope so. I've also treated myself to a new tablet and that should arrive today as well.
I had a lovely long chat with Joy yesterday, then back home to get the old piano ready for collection and pack up all the sheet music. None of that took too long so I had a last play on the piano, watched Watercolour Challenge, waved goodbye to the old piano, and then read until it was time for bed.
I'm not going to pretend I'll do any work today! As soon as the piano arrives I doubt I'll stray far from the music room except when the new tablet arrives, of course, as I will need to get that set up for tomorrow's piano lesson.
This is so, so exciting!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are lovely - how kind.
xx
The flowers were completely unexpected and a very thoughtful gift. The little girl's dad and uncle came to collect the piano and we're excited on behalf of the girl. The mum texted me later to say how happy her daughter was when she saw the piano. xx
DeleteAt first, I thought that was a picture of your new piano! How wonderful that it has now gone to a little girl who is learning to play! Lovely flowers, too. I hope the new piano arrives early and you have a fun day, playing and relaxing! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's 8am and I'm waiting patiently for it to arrive! They said they'd phone when they are 30 minutes away, but haven't phoned yet!
DeleteI'm pleased that the old piano has gone to a little girl who is learning to play and who loves music. It makes it easier to let it go when I know it will bring so much pleasure to it's new owner
I'm so pleased for you Eileen, and to know the old piano has gone to a young girl to learn on is delightful. Have a great day with your new piano and tablet, so exciting and enjoy your beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the little girl will have many hours of happy playing on the old piano, and I'm very pleased that it will bring her so much pleasure.
DeleteI'm waiting patiently for my new goodies to arrive 😀😀
That is so lovely to read. I hope the little girl really enjoys her music
ReplyDeleteSo do I. I'm really pleased that the old piano has gone to bring happiness to a little girl.
DeleteWhat a lovely way for the piano to end it's own chapter with you & begin a new one with a gifted & thankful young lady. Flowers are always such a treat, especially when unexpected. Fingers crossed the wait isn't too long for the new piano to arrive. Have fun setting up the new tablet ... remember to say as you do "technology is my friend, technology is my friend ..." (col).
ReplyDeleteThe piano is here and I've been playing it ... I love it! The tablet is scheduled to arrive early evening so I still have that to look forward to.
DeleteWhat an exciting day! I'm sure the little girl will enjoy your old piano.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your piano class tomorrow! :)
It's been a great day. The piano arrived this morning in time for me to have my piano lesson today so tomorrow is now free. The tablet arrived a few minutes ago and I'm in the middle of setting it up. 😀
DeleteWhat lovely flowers! Have fun with the piano.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful, aren't they. I've had so much fun playing my new piano today.
DeleteOh wow! How lovely to receive flowers and know that the piano is going to someone who is going to really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely surprise to be given the flowers. I'm loving that the piano is now cherished by a little girl who loves music ... it's the sort of thing that makes decluttering fun!
