11/365: Spring bulbs are on their way!

Yesterday was one of those sort of character building days where I had to force myself to keep going. It took most of the day to move everything to the dining room and hallway and then sort through to decide how to dispose of it all. I still have a bit more to do but by the time I gave up for the day I had most of the items for charity donation packed in bags and boxes ready for my friend's son to collect tonight - he's the one who sells at car boot sales and donates his takings to the local hospice. I'll finish the donations pile today and then I'll be left with just over a third of the items to deal with myself. These are all items to be sold, mostly to specialist dealers, but I'll try my luck on eBay and Gumtree with the remainder.

So I'm taking photos of as many of the larger non specialist items as I can and hope to get them advertised today. The priority is to find someone to take the piano as that will be in the way once the new one arrives. I don't have a delivery date yet but am assuming I have about two or three weeks, based on the conversations with the store.

I can't spend all day on it as G will be here this afternoon to cut my hair and that's followed by something that's been in the diary for a while - a Zoom chat with L & P. I'm looking forward to that as I have 'seen' them alone for over a year so it'll be good to chat about things that we wouldn't chat about in the larger group. Both of them have long Covid so I'm hoping that things are improving for them - they are having a tough time.

Best get started!

  1. Isn't it lovely to see signs of Spring after this miserable winter although I have to say it hasn't been too cold, no sub-zero temperatures. I hope advertising your items for sale goes well and enjoy your Zoom chat today.

    1. It is lovely to see all the shoots peeping through the soil. Thankfully it hasn't been too cold so far and with a bit of luck, we'll make it to Spring without too many bitterly cold spells.

I've been photographing some of the items today and am now waiting for the donations to be collected. It will all look so much better when they have gone!

  4. Those little shoots poking through are certainly encouraging - we have -18(c) & -26(c) with the wind chill. I need to see that no winter lasts forever (col). You have been busy with the music room & cupboards clear out. It will feel so good once truly done & dusted & speaking of dusting, I better crack on with delayed housework!

    1. It is encouraging to see all the shoots but there's a while to go before Spring is here. We won't have it anywhere near as bad as you though.

I think I've overdone the clear out but as soon as all the boxes and bags of donation go (tonight) it'll look a lot better and much more manageable. Enjoy your housework!

    1. Thanks Joy. I overdid it yesterday so was tired before I started today. My friend's son is here loading his van ... he didn't want me to help thankfully, and it'll look so much better once all the donations have left the house. xx
