342/365: cotoneaster

Let's start with the best news ... my newest great-nephew was born yesterday at 1pm. We don't know his name yet but he's the first child of my brother's daughter, my youngest niece, and mum and baby are both doing fine. I can't believe my brother is now a granddad!

Apart from that I don't really have much to tell you today. It's got considerably colder so a day at home in the warm is the place to be. I will be indulging in a couple more treats for myself ... I counted up my Twelve Days of Christmas gifts and seem to be two short. I don't know how that has happened as I was convinced I'd bought them all so will give some thought to what else I'd like and get it all ordered today. I also need to finish writing my Christmas cards and get them in the post, not that I have any confidence they will arrive before Christmas Day but at least I will have tried.

I always think of myself as being a lucky person and once again a possible solution for increasing my exercise sessions at home has presented itself just when I need it. Goldster, the organisation I use for the nutrition classes has added some new classes which started this week and two of them are suitable exercise classes for my current level of ability. One is a seated Thai Chi class and the other is 30 minute general exercise class so, if I can tweak other commitments easily, I will give them a go. I'd completely forgotten about Goldster's other offerings but there are lots of other exercise classes, yoga, Pilates, etc. to consider as well so one way or the other I should be able to find something suitable. There's also a new calligraphy class and a nature sketchbook class which I'm keen to try out and the best bit is that it's all covered by my current membership fee so I won't need to find any extra money every month. I'll still buy the weights Amy has suggested so I think that with Amy's training, one or two of the Goldster classes and my Christmas Day gift to myself (for a fun approach to exercise!) I will have plenty of options and won't need to worry about joining a gym. I'm excited about the possibilities!

    Your cotoneaster is looking gorgeous!
And what good news about the new exercise classes that you can take at home and at no additional cost! Sounds like things are falling into place, nicely!

    1. Thanks Bless. I'm surprised the cotoneaster is doing so well. We moved it recently as it wasn't growing so was taking up valuable space for a new rose. It obviously likes the new position as it has doubled in size in a very short timescale.

I don't know why I didn't think of the Goldster classes but at least I remembered before I committed to an expensive gym membership. I think I'm more likely to do the classes at home rather than have to drive across town to a gym as well.

I'll be writing about my new exercise regime next year. I would have procrastinated if I was doing it on my own but chatting with Amy (my personal trainer) and following her advice helped to pull it all together.
