A Day Off!

I'm giving myself a day off from the paperwork reorganisation. I've nearly finished but looking through what remains of my late partner's documents was rather more emotionally draining than I was expecting and I want a break before I carry on.

I'm keen to carry on with my book, The Binding by Bridget Collins. I'm loving it and it's the first page turner I've read for ages, so that'll be my day ... read, eat, drink coffee, repeat!

  1. A good idea. It must have been gruelling at times.

    1. I'm putting it down to being overtired plus I'd forgotten that there were several documents that had his photo on them. I'll be ready for it next time. xx

  2. Hi Eileen, a very good plan to have a break. I can only imagine how emotionally draining it must have been dealing with your partner's documents. Be kind to yourself and save those documents until you feel it is appropriate. Sending you a big, cosy virtual hug.Take care!

    1. Thanks for the hug 😊

I will finish it off tomorrow - now I know what's there I think it'll better to get it finished asap.

  3. Sounds like a perfect plan for the day. I can only imagine the memories that flooded back with dealing with Ced's papers, how could it not. A book is a great place to be today. I'll check to see if the library has The Binding.

Our province was put into another state of emergency for 28 days with stricter rules about stay at home. Thankfully I saw this coming & have a pile of books coming.

    1. I also listened to Matt Haig's The Midnight Library today. That one, plus a load of other audio books are available for free on BBC Sounds but don't know if it's available outside of the UK.

  4. I'm glad you decided to take a break. Going through paperwork is difficult, isn't it? I remember how hard it was for me to go through my mother's papers!

    1. It is hard. This one pile had been overlooked for some reason but thankfully there isn't much to do now.
