I'm off to Bath this morning, just window shopping but if I see something I really like I will buy it. There's no special reason for this, I just feel like a change and a different sort of day. I'm not looking specifically for clothes, although I may look in Primark while I'm there as that's our closest store, but am wanting glass storage containers for the kitchen and possibly some new plates ... if I break one more dinner plate I will need to feed people in shifts! I'm really wanting to look and see what's available as although I know I want a change from my current plain white dinner service I'm not really sure what I do want. Once I do buy a replacement set what's left of the old one will be donated to the church for their community meals service.

I have to be back for early afternoon as G will be here to cut my hair. It will be a relief to get it cut as it feels long overdue ... it's not, just the usual six weeks between cuts but this time it's constantly annoying me as it keeps catching on my collar. Friend JDH said she will call in on the off chance I'm back in time; she's on Nanna duties this morning so will have Little Miss P and Baby R with her. If our paths don't cross this time we'll arrange something for another Thursday instead.

I've started again on the crocheting and am now following Plan B. I didn't like how it was looking and wasn't confident I was doing it properly, so I have chosen a YouTube video to follow this time. Hopefully my second attempt will be better. Before the restart I spent some time looking through the technique videos about how to hold the wool in my left hand as that's been my main problem so far but I can't actually do any of the ones I watched ... too painful thanks to the arthritis ... so I've ended up with my own interpretation of one of them and although it doesn't feel completely natural at the moment, I'm hoping it will settle into a comfortable hold. There is a Plan C!

I've had a few more quotes for the replacement garage door and it seems that the first quote, the one that I thought was mega expensive, is actually the cheapest so I will place the order later today. It's only going to get more expensive if I wait so I might as well get it done and at least have the convenience of a garage door that works! I'll also speak to neighbour S and see if he will be able to help with the fixings I need in the understairs cupboard this weekend, and then that will be finished as well. I'm getting there!

  2. Sounds like you have a wonderful day planned with window shopping trips. hair cuts, and a possible friend visit, as well. Interesting to know that the first quote for the garage door replacement was the lowest quote, after all! Hope the crochet project Plan B works well; good to know that there's a Plan C, as well. I wonder if Plan C involves your sister! :D

    1. I gave up with the shopping as soon as I got wet! I didn't see anything I really wanted except for one dinner service which I couldn't afford.

I was surprised that the first quote was the cheapest but that's the way it's worked out. I'm waiting for them to get back to me with the date they can do the work.

Plan C doesn't involve my sister, I think she'd cry if I asked her for help with anything involving wool! Plan C involves V at The Woollery.

  3. What perfect time of year to do some window shopping as most are now all adorned with Christmas goodies & themes. We've had some progress ridding the list of those little life annoyances on the to do list. I usually live a lot of my life in Plan F !!

    1. Window shopping was abandoned today and I'll try in town tomorrow instead. Well done on the progress you're making ridding all those little life annoyances. It makes a difference doesn't it? I'm not quite at Plan F but that did make me laugh!
