I picked up my new glasses yesterday so that's that task ticked off the list and now I am getting used to them. I think they need to be adjusted again but will give it a week or two first.  L turned up about 1:30pm and stayed for seven hours and we had a great time. Our next meet will be an early evening trip to the cinema next Wednesday.

Today will be much quieter. There's a nutrition class this morning which I'll listen to and then the rest of the day is free to do whatever I fancy. We're promised some rain this afternoon so I'm hoping to fit in another trip to town before the nutrition class ... I noticed yesterday that the Bonmarche store has reopened so I'd like to look at their trousers, and I also saw a burgundy jumper I like the look of in the Peacocks store next door. I missed these stores on my last attempt at clothes shopping so maybe I'll have more luck this time.

  1. Good luck with the clothes hunting. Bon Marche has some surprises from time to time, I think, and I hope the Peacocks jumper is just the ticket! xx

    1. I've seen two items I like and have now ordered them online. I was hoping that there might be a suitable jacket in Bonmarché but no luck this time. xx

  2. Sounds like you and L had a wonderful visit!
Takes time to get used to new glasses, doesn't it?
Hope you have good luck with the clothes shopping! I like the sound of that burgundy sweater/jumper. :)

    1. We did have a great time together thanks Bless. These new glasses feel odd, just a completely different fit from my previous pair, but I'm sure I'll get used to them ... as you say, it takes time. The new jumper and trousers have been ordered online.

    1. It was lovely to just be able to talk and not worry about having to rush off. The shopping was actually window shopping and I've ordered the items I like online.

  4. You can't tell if glasses will fit properly until you've worn them, trying them on in store isn't enough.Mine pinched one ear so I went back and they adjusted it now they slip a little but better than hurting. I hope you find the trousers and jumper you like. Our nearest town is hopeless for clothes shopping and both Bonmarche and Peacocks have closed down so I buy online now.

    1. At least they spend some time adjusting them in the store this time which didn't happen when I bought my last pair during lockdown. They still feel a bit odd but I'm sure I'll get used to them before too long.

I've ordered the trousers and jumper online. Bonmarché closed at one time but has reopened, which is good news. The closest place for a lot of choice when clothes shopping is Bath, but that's always crowded so I am trying to avoid it for now. xx
