Weekly Reflections

Reasons to be cheerful ...

  • phoning, texting and emailing with family and friends
  • treating myself to a panda oodie
  • autumn making its presence known - some misty mornings, cooler temperatures, spiders' webs, the trees starting their autumn displays
  • enjoying a walk along the canal
  • getting my flu jab ... no after effects this time!
  • getting positive feedback from the eye clinic, plus a referral to the specialists at Moorfields Hospital in London
  • trying the Community Link hospital transport for the first time ... it was a success and so good to have a hassle free trip to and from the hospital
  • adding more dates to my diary
  • catching-up with my sister
  • choosing some new bulbs and plants for the garden
  • enjoying the second series of Professor T and the new series of Karen Pirie

I am grateful ...
  • for all the help and kind comments I've received this week
  • for hot water bottles on cold nights!
  • for relaxing days and a slower pace of life

Lifestyle changes
  • daily walk: Achieved
  • weekly personal training session: Achieved
  • twice a week - 2 x 10 reps of each of three exercises: Achieved

  1. I'm glad all went well with the transport to hospital and a good outcome from your appointment. It's definitely feeling autumnal now but it's a good season and you are so going to enjoy your new oodie when it arrives xx

    1. The transport certainly made the day so much easier and I will use them again for my next appointment at the Eye Clinic. The news was so much better than I was expecting!

I like autumn and am looking forward to my daily walks and crunching through the leaves, and when it's cold enough I will have my new oodie to snuggle in when I get home!

  2. Autumn is here, your panda oodie looks fun. I bought 2 fleecy hoodies from M & S for the winter but am holding off so far. I already have one other, so going by what my Mum used to say. "One on, one in the wash and one airing", so that's me sorted. Helen S.

    1. My second hoodie/oodie may be a Winnie the Pooh one! I'm saving them for when it gets colder though. Good advice from your Mum ... I may have to look for a third one, especially as I don't want to use the tumble drier with the rising costs of the electricity.

  3. Another very good week with many things to be cheerful about and grateful for. I'm glad the ride to and from the hospital worked out well and you will be getting the care you need for your eyes. Hope your sister is doing well.

    1. Thanks for asking Bless. She's having various test and procedures but won't be seeing the consultant for another five weeks, although I suppose they will act sooner if any of the tests identifies the problem.
