Weekly Reflections
Reasons to be cheerful ...
- having some productive days during the week
- chatting with friends and family
- finding a solution to the boredom when walking indoors by listening to audiobooks
- reaching the first half stone weight loss!
- enjoying the finals of Dancing on Ice and The Great Pottery Throwdown, and being pleased when the winners were announced in both shows
- happening across a cookery show on BBC iPlayer, 'Recipes That Made Me', looking at Punjabi cooking. Punjabi food was my very first introduction to Indian curries and I still love the flavours, so have made a note of the recipes (though I will swap the goat meat for chicken!). It's Sri Lankan food next time.
- doing some proper vocal warm ups before choir and actual hitting the high notes without straining ... so relieved I haven't lost my range just yet!
- finding some caffeine free herbal drinks I like. Many thanks to Lady Ella for mentioning the Teapigs Sweet Ginger drinks.
I am grateful ...
- for prescription medications
- for access to free audiobooks
- that more family and friends have received their first Covid jabs, and that my great nieces and nephews have settled back into the school routine without any problems
- for all the supportive comments on the blog posts, especially over the last two days
Lifestyle Changes
- Exercise (30 mins minimum every day): achieved on 5 days out of 7
- Weight: 1 lb loss. That's the first half stone gone!
Congratulations on losing half a stone, very impressive. I'm enjoying reading your blog so carry on what you are doing and ignore anonymous comments, they don't need to visit your blog. I'll check out the Teapigs Sweet Ginger drinks they sound nice and caffeine free too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm chuffed with the weight loss ☺️
DeleteI do intend to carry on writing what I want. The comment caught me when I was feeling low after a migraine but I'm okay about it now ... someone felt the need to be nasty but that's their problem, not mine!
The Teapigs site has a good range of caffeine free drinks so hope you find something you like.
Congratulations on the half stone (but did you really have to send it over here?)! Glad you like the sweet ginger tea. I find one bag easily makes two cups.
ReplyDeleteOh I couldn't get into Dancing on Ice this time. How far did Jason Donovan get?
Enjoyed the pottery throwdown but was disgusted by the removal of Sal. Of the three finalists I approved of the winner. Her art deco set was really good.
Thank you, re the weight loss. Feeling smug, at the moment it's not a struggle at all so let's hope that continues to be the case. From your comment I'm assuming that yours is heading in the wrong direction! I love the sweet ginger tea. I have a ginger and lemon to try as well, and I think I will try some more of their non-tea selection. It's nice to have a change.
DeleteJason Donovan left because of a back injury - I think he was about the fifth one to go. The whole series was marred by injuries and Covid, and I didn't really connect with any of the contestants. With TGPT, I was annoyed when Sal was voted out. I really liked her and thought she consistently demonstrated her skills, more than some of the others.
Such a successful week - you must feel so very encouraged.

Thanks Joy. I think I'm making more informed decisions with this attempt to lose weight and so far it's working.
DeleteWay to go on the weight loss! All your hard work is paying off! Now, if you can send some motivation my way, that would be much appreciated! :D
ReplyDeleteLots of good reasons to be cheerful, this week. I hope next week will be just as cheerful, if not more. :)
Thanks Bless, I'll see what I can do about the motivation ☺️
DeleteIt's been a good week despite the migraine. Fingers are crossed that this week is just as good, if not better.
