Friday
Two out of the three parcels arrived yesterday as promised. I received an email about the missing parcel confirming that it had been delivered successfully so I looked to see if it had just been left outside, but no sign of it. I emailed back to ask where it was left to be told it was left behind the shed with the red door. There's no shed here but they were insistent on that point so I sent photos of the outside of the house - fortunately the street sign stands on the edge of my front garden and is repeated by the door number so there's no doubt about the address - and they eventually responded to say that they would have to speak to the driver when he returned and would get back to me. I'm expecting to hear from them today. At least the contents won't be ruined by the delay.
There's only two things in the diary for today - the Nutrition Focus which is on protein, and J should be phoning at some stage. Apart from that, it all depends on the weather and what time the promised rain starts. I'd like to sort out so bits and bobs in the garden but if it's too wet I think it'll be a good day to carry on with the family tree.
That is so annoying about your missing parcel. I won't give my address away online but it has been misread by postmen before and one time I had to go to a stranger's house to collect my parcel which had been opened but at least I got that one back. I hope you hear back today with some good news.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed on the local Facebook group that this seems to happen a lot but I think it's the first time it's happened to me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some good news!
DeleteSounds like your parcel was delivered to the wrong address! I often get mail and packages meant for others! Some for my neighbors (same street, different house number), but, every so often, meant for someone on a different road (same house number, but, different street!). One time, there was a phone number on the package and I called and that person drove over and picked up her large package (a trampoline, she told me!) I hope the driver will redeliver your package to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the driver realises what he's done and can sort it out. I can't think of a house nearby that has a shed at the front of their house although 'shed' could possibly be a child's playhouse - I've seen a couple of those but I can't think exactly where. Hopefully I will hear back today and the parcel can be found.
DeleteThe protein online workshop sounds quite interesting. I think most people believe protein is only found in meats. That's too bad about your parcel, & hopefully it gets delivered to you today when the driver realizes his error. Seems deliveries are getting worse not better which you would think after this last year & ALL the home deliveries, drivers would be familiar with address to which home. Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteIf it's anything like the previous one, the protein session will be packed with useful information and tips. The parcel is being traced! I don't know if I am hopeful or not ... we'll see what Monday brings!
DeleteIt's strange when they send me a photo of my package delivered only that's not my house in the picture *sigh* I hope it's recoverable.
ReplyDeleteSo do I. I have contacted the seller and they are chasing it up as well.
DeleteHope this has sorted itself out now. I have had several poor experiences of late. Amazon dumping expensive stuff on the doorstep without ringing the bell, DPD delivering Mum's mother's day flowers on the wrong day and to the wrong address ... then expecting me to drive out to retrieve and re-deliver them! If I'd wanted click and collect I would have used Tesco instead of paying handsomely for home delivery!!
ReplyDeleteIt's not sorted yet but I'm hopeful that it will be. That's really poor service from DPD. Did you complain?
DeleteI did complain and received no response. Bit of a man-in-the-middle situation as their contract was with the florist, as was mine. I still think they owed me at the very least an apology. I was on the phone six times trying to sort it all out, and ended up in tears over it. I did eventually receive a credit from the florist.
DeleteSince been reading on Twitter how useless they are. Rev. Richard Coles got a message saying they couldn't find the address. Err... it's the massive building with the pointy tower, right in the middle of that small village?! You couldn't make it up!
Good luck with yours. I'm sure it will appear eventually - and the good thing with Royal Mail is that they do have a proper, established claims/compensation system if worst comes to the worst. It's just a pain though.
It was delivered this morning. A little girl found it behind her playhouse and her Dad brought it round ... they live on the other side of the village in a road beginning with B, so no way could it be mistaken for the M which is the initial letter of my road! I haven't let Royal Mail off the hook yet and will wait to see what they say when (if?) they phone on Monday.
DeleteYour experience was frustrating and I can see why you were upset. At least you received a credit from the florist even if no joy from the courier. I think Richard Coles' experience just about sums them up!
This sort of problem seems to be on the increase. I suppose all the extra deliveries are difficult for them to keep up with. I really hope your delivery turns up sooon.
ReplyDeleteI think there are a lot of untrained staff now there are so many extra deliveries, although you wouldn't think it too difficult to match the address on the parcel to the correct destination!
