This Week ...

... I'm hoping for a quiet-ish sort of week. I have a very short list of things I want to get done (only three things on the list) and the new plants should start arriving later this week so I want to fit in a couple of walks today and tomorrow.

Entertainment & Socialising

Both L and J are busy with work and also need to wait on test results so we won't be meeting up this week, which means it'll be phone catch ups with both of them.

It's the Bath and West Show this weekend which I may go to but it all depends on the weather and whether I'm notified that a delivery is due.

Online Classes & Talks

  • Monday: Style Coach
  • Wednesday: Nutrition Club
  • Thursday: Bollywood Dancing, Indian Cooking
  • Friday: Nutrition Focus
Health and Fitness:

Daily: a 30 minute walk, 30 minutes of Tai Chi, and 20 minutes of knee strengthening exercises.

Home and Garden

Home: My August decluttering challenge continues. It's been easy to find things to dispose of so I may continue through September as well. I'm giving myself 100 more days to complete all the decluttering which takes me just past my birthday but is a nice round number to deal with. In that time I want to clear the remaining boxes, deal with a few items in the garage, hopefully sell all the items I've advertised, and do a monthly charity shop drop off and a recycling yard run to dispose of the rubbish. It sounds a lot but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I need the decluttering to be over and done with.

Garden: I've ordered the majority of the new plants so am expecting deliveries later this week, and the spring flowering bulbs ordered much earlier in the year will be here soon. It's the wrong season for a couple of plants so I'll order them when they are available next year.

I've decided to put the feeders back out to encourage the birds into the garden and I've also ordered a bird bath so now have to decide where to place that.

End of Lockdown Adventures

  • photograph the sunflowers

and finally, Hobbies:

Reading: I've just started listening to Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell.

Piano: 30 minutes daily practice. Lessons start in 16 days 😃

    1. I'm looking forward to the piano lessons and feeling anxious about them in equal measures 😂 I'll be fine once they start.

    1. Thanks Eileen. It'll be a relief to get it finished and then I won't know what to do with myself!

The weather isn't cooperating so far ... very dull and looks like rain! Never mind.

    1. There are three deliveries notified for today (Tuesday), earlier than I was expecting so I'm stuck at home today but will hopefully be able to go out later in the week.

I've written about the style coach in today's post. You'd enjoy it.

    1. Some of the plants will be here today 😀

I've reached the stage with the decluttering where I just want it finished so am finding it easy to let things go. The extra space and lack of clutter is my motivation and as the clutter is removed it's easier to keep the house clean!
