In the garden ...

... not the best light for the photos, but it gives an idea of how it's all looking at the start of August.

Yesterday was a complete washout as I woke to a bad migraine and spent most of the day in bed. I'll catch up with blog comments etc. later on. I don't have much energy today but will be going out as I have an appointment for blood tests and could do with getting some fresh air.

The third lot of bad news has come to light. My BiL spend yesterday at the hospital, unable to walk after a fall. It's muscular and not a break, thankfully, so he's been sent home to recover. Let's hope that's the end of it.

On a more positive note, my pension amount and payment date was notified and it's good to know that I'm in the system. Also, the calculation was exactly what I was expecting so there's no need to query anything. My sister received her notification as well. Between now and the end of November I will have a look at my budget and bank accounts so I'm prepared for the changes.

I have made a start on my decluttering challenge:
  • 1st = a set of plastic measuring spoons I never use
  • 2nd = a white shirt (band uniform) that is now too big
  • 3rd = odd balls of wool, going to my sister as she can make use of them

    1. I've been sleeping most of today so far. I'm pain free but feeling drained so it'll take a couple of days to be fully recovered. BiL is doing better now he has some pain meds and muscle relaxants according to my sister so it's looking promising.

Thanks, I'm pleased with the garden and it should look better next year when the four new climber add a bit of height.

    1. Thanks Irune. If it follows the usual path I still have another couple of days before my energy levels return but I am no longer in pain so all is good. The main decluttering tasks and the adventures will have to wait until next week.

  4. Sorry to hear that you were unwell yesterday. Migraines are certainly debilitating, my partner has them, he is often "losing" parts of a day as he feels so rubbish. I hope you have a better day today.
    Garden is looking fabulous!
I sorted out three pairs of earrings and 2 books yesterday, ready for the challenge! Today I might tackle the necklaces.

    1. I sympathize with you husband. I know exactly what he means about 'losing' parts of days but at least I am past the painful stage on this one.

Well done on your decluttering efforts so far.

  5. Your garden looks to be riotous in colour & bloom. Sorry to hear about your migraine, hopefully it's totally on the run now. Thank goodness no surprise with your pension. Thankfully yes not a break for your BiL, but muscle injury can take a while to heal ... let's hope it's a quick recovery.

    1. We're getting there with the garden! The migraine is still hovering in the background but no longer painful and I just need to rest now to avoid triggering another.

BiL had pain meds and muscle relaxants so, according to my sister, is doing okay.

I'm relieved that the pension is sorted as I can sort out my finances and work out what I want to do ... proper piano lessons is top of the list closely followed by a cleaner 😀

    1. Thanks Ailime. The migraine hasn't completely gone but I don't have any pain at the moment. I need a couple more days of rest to get back to normal.

  8. Sorry to hear about the migraine; hope you start feeling better, soon. Sorry to hear about your BIL, too! But, at least, no bones broken!

    1. I'm over the worst of it now so just need to regain some energy which always seems to take ages. I'll get there though, I always do. It seems to be good news for BiL with confirmation that there are no breaks, so it's a case of take it steady to let the healing happen.

Thanks re the garden and yes, the decluttering is going well. It's great that others want to join in with the challenge.
