Wednesday 10th November

I was invited to book an appointment for my Covid booster jab so now have that booked in. I went for the earliest date rather than the closest location and am now booked in for Saturday 27th November in Bath, so not too far to drive. I'll be glad to get it done.

The decluttering didn't go too well yesterday ... I need stronger boxes. One pathetic phone call to a friend later and I will have some by the weekend at the latest. Everything is organised and bubble wrapped where necessary, so it'll just be a case of packing and addressing the boxes and taking them to the Post Office. It's frustrating but it is what it is, and it's only a few days to wait. I did send the photos off to the Hereford based company so now have to wait to see if they are interested.

I don't think there is a specific class for the 30 day programme today but I do plan to do another 30 minute walk, most likely indoors as I am expecting a delivery this morning. It's the usual nutrition class at 10 am, talking about nutritional approaches to preventing migraines ... I'll be taking notes on this! That's followed by my piano lesson. Last week's had to be cancelled so it's be two weeks since the last lesson and I've truly had enough of the pieces I've been practicing. Frustratingly, even though I've had the extra week I still haven't 'got' one of the pieces - it's a relatively easy piece but there's one bar that trips me up, which unfortunately is the third bar of the piece and I hesitate before playing the rest of it. I might just cough loudly when I'm playing that bar and see if I can get away with it! 😂

This afternoon is set aside for a shopping trip. I need to do a top up shop but, if it's not too crowded, I may as well do a full shop while I'm in-store and cancel the delivery that's due on Sunday. I'm quite looking forward to choosing my own produce again and seeing if there's any new products that I fancy trying.

It's episode 4 of Shetland tonight and before that's screened I'd like to catch up with last night's episode of 'Who Do You Think You Are?' - I think it was Pixie Lott this time. Any then a soak in the bath and an early night!

  1. I nearly showered my tea over the keyboard when I got the the bit about coughing at the third bar? Somehow I doubt that will work! :-D
Great to have your booster booked. I'm still waiting to hear.

    1. Haha, as it turned out I played that bar without any problems! Messed up the last bar though 😂

I'm relieved to have the booster jab booked. Once that's done I'll feel more at ease about socialising. xx

  2. We've not heard anything about our booster jabs and I'm keen for us to have them done but here in Wales we are told to wait to be invited and not to contact our GP. What a waste of time that would be anyway, the receptionist wouldn't allow me to have a flu jab without a letter! That made me laugh too about coughing to disguise that one bar, good luck with that :)

    1. We had to wait for invites in England as well. It doesn't seem to be anything to do with the GPs this time - mine is booked in a Bath pharmacy. GP receptionist are a breed all of their own, aren't they?

I didn't need to resort to the coughing technique so will save it for another time 😂

  3. What a perfect day for your Booster jab, no chance a sore arm to interfere with any prior celebrations (wink wink). Nothing nicer than picking your own veg and/or fruits & now that the stores are stocking holiday treats all the more reason to do in person. Have fun.

    1. 😀😀😀 ... and as I don't drink I won't have that day after feeling either!

I was very good with the shopping and ignored all the Christmas treats - just bought enough to keep me going and will still have the big delivery on Sunday.

  4. Glad to see you didn't need to cough your way through your piano piece, but, thank you for the idea! :D I'm a bit late commenting, but, it sounds like your day went well. I need to call and schedule my booster shot, too. Hope you'll have minimal side effects. :)

    1. For some strange reason I play much better when C is listening which is odd because I'd expect it to be the opposite.

Yes, I've had a good day today thanks, and hope yours was too.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the booster and any possible side effects as everyone I know who's had it has been unwell afterwards.

    2. If it's any consolation my parents have both had the booster and been fine. They had OAZ for the first two and Pfizer for the booster. (I know you had Pfizer first time round.)

    3. Thanks Lady E, that sounds promising. I think the option for the booster is either the Pfizer or the Moderna.

  5. Hope the booster goes well! My son had his the other day and didn't feel too well for a day or two. He recovered though and a lot better than getting covid!

They have only shown episode 1 of Shetland here. I was so excited! Love that show.

    1. Thanks Sharon. I'll be having the booster and keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have the sort of reaction my family has had so far.

Is that series 6? I love Shetland too.
