Reasons to be cheerful ...
- phoning, texting and emailing with family and friends
- chatting with neighbours
- meeting J for coffee
- watching the tennis at Queen's Club
- discovering a new-to-me opportunity to meet new people
- enjoying a slower pace of life
- learning a new piece of piano music - Stars from Les Misérables
- loving how the garden is looking ... it's my own little area of calmness!
- avoiding the need to have the oven on during this heatwave because I made the effort to batch cook a load of freezer meals
- finding a quick, easy and cheap storage solution for the the spare quilt and blankets
- finally receiving my missing parcel; despite the delay the plant is looking healthier than I was expecting so may still do well and the company I purchased from has already sent out a replacement to arrive within three days, plus ...
- ... all the other plants I was expecting arrived yesterday (all sent separately and arriving in three different vans!) so I will only have to stay in for the delivery of the replacement plant when I'm notified that it's due 😊
- appreciating yesterday's much needed rainfall
I am grateful ...
- for more offers of help from neighbours
- that my friends have recovered fully following their recent positive tests for Covid
- for good conversations and the many chances to laugh out loud
Lifestyle changes
- daily walk. Achieved
- daily knee strengthening. Achieved
The rain has really refreshed things, hasn't it. The plants look happier and I know people are too.

It rained both Saturday and Sunday so the garden has had a much needed soaking and everything looks bright and cheerful again. Just what we all needed!
DeleteThat's a good result for your missing parcel. I hope it does well and the replacement too. Your garden does look lovely and I do like your tutti frutti hanging basket. No rain here but it was cooler and much more pleasant and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteIt's still looking healthy so I'm just waiting for the replacement to arrive and then can forget all the stress! I'm really pleased with the tutti fruitti hanging basket - it's doing better than the other hanging baskets so far and the colour combo of the plants is striking.
DeleteIt rained Saturday and Sunday. It's sunny but slightly cooler today (Monday) so much better.

DeleteLots of good reasons for being cheerful and grateful. I'm glad the missing plant was finally delivered and looks to be in good shape; I'm even more glad that the company is sending a replacement plant to make up for the delay! Glad you received all the other plants, too; better earlier than late, I suppose. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless. I've ended up benefitting from the delay and all the hassle, so am happy with their offer of a replacement plant. I'm definitely happy about all the other plants arriving earlier than expected!
