The heat got to me yesterday so, apart from the piano lesson and hair cut, I didn't do much. I had a headache that just wouldn't shift, so just let the day pass by and just pottered. I'm feeling fine today but am not planning to do anything on the decluttering/sorting side of things ... what needs to be done will get done so there's no point in overdoing things while the weather is like this.
There's only two important things in the diary for today, both birthdays. Miss E's card has been posted and her birthday money will transfer today so I only need to text birthday wishes. It's also J's birthday and we are going out for a meal to celebrate. It'll be the first time I've been out in the evening for ages ... I can't remember the last time but I think it must have been back in 2020 before the first lockdown.
The rest of the day will be spent in front of the fan, reading and generally doing as little as possible!
Isn't that a simply beautiful flower. I love the darker edging.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the heat is getting to you and it's very wise to take things as easy as you can. Shade and lots of water . . .
Have a lovely meal with your friend.
xx
It is. The cosmos selection has been really beautiful this year.
DeleteHot weather like this is always a trigger for me but it stays cool in the house and I'm getting much better at taking it easy 😂
Thanks, I'm looking forward to tonight's jolly. xx
Being sensitive to heat is a thing and I am suffering from it too, definitely take things easy. Enjoy your meal out tonight.
ReplyDeleteYou have my sympathy, this sort of heat is hard to cope with isn't it? I haven't done anything today, am just staying inside where it's cool and am reading or napping. Thanks I'm looking forward to tonight. xx
DeleteLovely Cosmo. It looks as though someone has come along & painted the petals. I hope there's cake to celebrate J's birthday.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if because of the high temperatures you are experiencing out of the norm, if you have a loss of electrolytes (perspiring subtly more) When we get days of 30+ plus high humidity, I up my water intake which I find helps ward off heat/dehydration head aches & it is surprising how quickly this happens especially when you aren't use to it.
No, definitely no cake as J is trying to lose weight.
DeleteGood suggestion but with me it's not to do with electrolytes. I'm staying properly hydrated and a shot of coconut water provides a speedy response if I feel I need it. The headache is to do with the weather conditions, i.e. the extreme heat and the change in air pressure. Falling or rising pressure can both be triggers and unfortunately there is little I can do about it.
What a beautiful cosmos flower! As Mary-Lou observed, it does look like it was painted!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the heat triggered a headache; I'm glad you are feeling better, today. I'm late with my comments, so I hope you've had a lovely meal and evening out with your friend.
Hope it is cooler for you, tomorrow, and you'll have a lovely day.
There's a couple of these striped ones. They're very different to the rest but I like them.
DeleteI realised this morning that I am a day out on my medication so maybe that had something to do with the headache, although that's not how I normally feel if I forget my daily doses.
We had a lovely meal and I enjoyed the evening. There's a nice breeze today so it makes it more bearable anyway.
Staying in front of a fan is good! Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteStaying in front of a fan seems to be a recurring theme for this summer... I'm doing just that now!
