290/365: penstemon

I think S & T may have been away for the weekend so I didn't get to speak to S about the pergola and will try to catch him today. I don't mind when he is able to build it but would like to have some idea of when it might be done ... just because I like planning things! I know M would like to get the new vine and rose in place this side of Christmas but that'll all depend on how things work out. I still haven't decided on the rose variety anyway and don't really want to rush into buying one ... it'll do just as well if it has to wait until the spring.

It's personal training this morning but I will have to psych myself up for it this time. I was headachy for most of yesterday, which thankfully didn't develop into a full blown migraine, but I didn't sleep too well because of it. The headache has gone but I'm feeling weary today and I did consider cancelling but I actually think the exercise will do me good so I'll go and do the best I can. I don't have anything else planned so the rest of the day can be as easy as I want it to be.

This entire week will be much quieter than last week. I'm not joining any of the other U3A groups until after I've been to the eye hospital next week so all I have in the diary is the visits from two local businesses to quote for replacing the garage door, two birthdays to post cards for, and I'll hopefully be meeting with J on Wednesday night.

  1. I hope you are able to speak with S sooner rather than later so you can plan things to your heart's content! :D
Sorry to hear about the headache and I hope it doesn't become worse. I know you've said you will go for your personal training, but, I hope you will rest afterwards. Good idea to take it easy this week, before your eye appointment. :)

    1. I should be able to speak to S tonight. R is here working in S' garden so I've spoken to him and he will mention it to S anyway.

I'm feeling fine now, just a bit sleepy but the headache has definitely gone. The PT session worked wonders for me! It's going to be all quiet days until I get to London next Wednesday and then it's fun time! xx

    1. I'm the same as you and have plenty of things I enjoy doing to fill the hours. I'm realising that a slower pace of life suits me so much better than constantly rushing around. xx

  3. Do let your personal trainer know you are feeling under the weather so she can take that into account and then have a restful day.

    1. Thanks Eileen. The session was gentler than it otherwise would have been and I actually feel much better for doing it. The headache has gone completely and I'm spending the rest of the day at home, reading and watching TV. xx

  4. I think you are right to go to PT and that it will help but Eileen is right - tell your trainer how you are and she will adjust things accordingly.
I was dithering about going to circuits today but I am and will just do what I can do and march out the rest. It's a busy week for you so that bit of exercise focusing on yourself might help a lot. xx

    1. I'm glad I went to PT and I do feel better as a result. My headache has gone and I've just been relaxing at home since then. I hope circuits go just as well for you. xx

  5. A quieter week is sometimes a good thing. Rest up before the big London adventure. I'm sure your P/T will adjust the session to meet your energy level, which might then increase it for the rest of the day. :)

    1. I will need all my energy for my London trip ... I'm starting to get excited about it and I'm not going until the 26th! PT was gentler than usual and I do feel better for doing it, but I think it will be an early night for me tonight! xx

  6. Sometimes it is good to have a quieter week, I know I could do with one at the moment.
Hopefully you will feel better as the day goes on, I often used to find a walk in the fresh air used to clear my head. Helen S.

    1. I feel much better now thanks Helen and I think the PT session helped with that. It's turned out to be a nice day so I may try to sit out in the garden for a while later on ... I agree with you and fresh air helps a lot. xx
