186/365: osteospurmum

I have a nice quiet morning to look forward to. Hopefully it will stay dry and I can spend my time in the garden ... I need to catch up with the deadheading and then maybe take some time to sit on my bench to enjoy a hot drink and the peace and quiet.

It's my third session with Amy, the personal trainer after lunch and I'm looking forward to it. I honestly never thought I'd be saying that! I'm feeling better in myself already and walking is feeling easier though not completely pain free yet, and best of all, I have lost three pounds in the last week ... my weight had plateaued for a long time so to lose those pounds without even trying is a huge plus. Once that's finished I'll just have enough time to come home, shower and change before meeting J in our favourite café to spend the rest of the afternoon catching up on each other's news.

It should be a good day and I hope yours is the same, whatever you are doing.

  1. I thought you would enjoy PT. It's quite different to a class, much more targeted and personal. I love mine too. It sounds like you are doing really well too.
Have a lovely time with J.

    1. It's not at all what I was expecting and so different from the gym experience which I didn't really enjoy. I'm not regretting my decision at all and can see that it will improve my life. I had a great time with J, thanks.

    1. Thanks Eileen. Yes, the PT is working well for me and I'll try to persuade my sister to do the same. I had a great time with J and we chatted about some ideas for future socialising.

  3. Your osteospermum looks so lovely and fresh with all the droplets of rain! Mine are done flowering for the season. Sounds like a lovely day, spending time in the garden, a session with Amy, and then, and afternoon with a friend. Congratulations on the weight loss! Sounds like the PT sessions are working some magic!

    1. These osteospurmum should keep flowering into September, so there's a while to enjoy the flowers yet. J came here this afternoon and we had a long chat, passing ideas on how to improve our social lives post Covid back and forth. We're looking to put together a quiz team next.

    1. The improvement is noticeable. Amy remarked on how much easier I am walking and both J and L have commented on the difference. Yes, life is definitely opening up again and the PT will help with that in more ways than one. I've had a great day thanks.

  5. Lovely flowers, and I've wondered about a personal trainer, they would see your difficulties and plan accordingly. Something I think I need.

    1. Thanks Chris. The PT has been one of my better decisions. She adapts everything to my needs and watches carefully, correcting my movements when necessary so that I don't aggravate existing issues with shoulder and knee, and also don't create new problems. I'd definitely recommend it.

  7. Raindrops on the flower photo - excellent! We are in a drought, so I am thankful for the rain barrels (rain butts) that I can use to hand water. Hope #3 with Amy is just as encouraging.

    1. Thanks Mary-Lou. There are black clouds overhead so we may have some rain tonight but that'll be it for a while. According to the weather forecast we are promised sunshine and warmer weather for the new fourteen days.

Session no 3 was very good, more intense than previous sessions but all manageable.
