184/365: one of the fuchsias in the hanging basket

Reasons to be cheerful ...

  • phoning, texting and emailing with family and friends
  • seeing the Red Arrows fly overhead on their way back to base after performing at the Weston Air Festival
  • Wimbledon!
  • really enjoying my second session with Amy (the PT)
  • meeting Joy at the garden centre for cake, and ...
  • ... shopping for plants unsupervised so returning home with the two plants I needed ........... plus four more!
  • adding some dates to the diary
  • trying out the Ladies That Lunch event and meeting some lovely people
  • appreciating the promise of a new crocheted blanket from my sister ... she doesn't like it so will pass it on to me when she has finished it!

I am grateful ...
  • for all the rain we've had this week ... the garden needed it!
  • for all the opportunities that are available to me
  • for the prospect of new friendships

Lifestyle changes

  1. That fuchsia is so pretty! Sounds like your week was wonderful. Just wondering if the other three Ladies That Lunch already knew each other or were you all new to it. I'm glad it worked out so well, a new beginning.

    1. It's lovely, but sadly just an annual fuchsia.

The lunches have been running for about 3 or 4 months now. A and J arrived together and obviously knew each other but I don't know if that friendship predates the lunches. They didn't seem to know V and vice versa but I think there are usually more people there and if that's the case, you are seated with a maximum of 6 to a table so it's quite possible that they just hadn't been seated together before.

  3. So many wonderful things about which to be cheerful and grateful! I'm so happy that the new things you've tried (the PT and Ladies Lunching) have worked out so well. I love the fact that you went for 2 plants and returned with 6! :D

    1. Thanks Bless. Things seem to be going well at the moment so am keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to be the case.

I could have easily bought even more plants so I feel I was quite restrained 😂
